4 Favorite Affordable/Drugstore Lipsticks for Fall + Winter
Makeup from the drugstore has come such a far way since when I first started experimenting with makeup. When I was younger, the quality, formula, and ultimately the options weren't very good- but in the past couple of years they've really stepped up their game! There's several products I prefer from the drugstore more than ones that are high end and even some of them are my everyday essentials.
Below are a few lipsticks that I love all year round, but especially during the A/W seasons. I'll write a little review and show what they look like on! I Hope you all love these shades as much as I do!
Touch of Spice- Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipstick
A mauve-y lipstick with a matte finish? YAAAS.
This lipstick is super comfortable and easy to apply and wear. They're really hydrating and don't dry out your lips, but they do tend to settle a bit into fine lines so just quickly exfoliate your lips first if they're really dry. Also, because of the creamy formula, it can transfers easier than a liquid lipstick or something like that. If you're wary of that just use a lipliner and touch it up when necessary. Other than that, I have nothing bad to say about it! The color is beautiful and for less than 6 dollars, it's definitely worth it!
Clay Crush- Maybelline Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipstick
This is the same exact same formula for Touch of Spice, so formula-wise you know how it is. This peachy orangish nude color is so flattering for so many different skin tones and doesn't wash me out at all (during the winter I am pretty fair so that's really saying something) It's also super versatile too, which I like because it goes with so many different makeup looks! If you're in need for an everyday nude, definitely pick this up.
Rose Velvet- Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick
I've loved these lipsticks for awhile now and are the ones I always look at when I'm in the drugstore. The formula is really moisturizing and it never drags on the lips or makes dry patches super noticeable which is pretty noteworthy. These Super Lustrous lipsticks have 4 different finishes- matte, creme, pearl, and sheer so that's kind of cool because most people have their preferences. The finish for this one is creme so it's right in the median of matte and glossy. The color is the one of the best rosy-browns I own and I think it's such a good nude to have around. Plus it's totally on trend right now and super affordable!
Va Va Violet- Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick
This lipstick is the exact same formula and finish as the one above and definitely one of the boldest lipsticks I own. I find it kind of intimidating to wear in public but the more I do it, the easier it gets. I just really love this color and think it pairs so well with the 90s vibe that's come back. I definitely recommend wearing a lipliner underneath this one but for these photos I didn't so you all could see how it is on it's own. Dark lips take more maintenance than your everyday nude, but sometimes it's totally worth it and it can be such a fun way to get out of your comfort zone. If you've been on the look out for a dark lip go grab this asap!
