5 Songs I'm Loving Right Now | #4

1. Angel Olsen- Sister

This is off one of my favorite albums last year and it reminds me a bit of Neil Young and Stevie Nicks (two of the bests) so this song is definitely something you should listen to if you're into that kind of sound. If I'm honest, this wasn't a song I really cared about too much when I first heard this album, but the more I heard it the more I loved it. The lyrics are so beautiful and the music has that rootsy, semi-pyschedlic feel that I fall in love with.

2. Pixies- Oona

Although "Doolittle" is my favorite Pixies album, I have been liking a few songs like this one from "Head Carrier." It's catchy and the chorus has such a good feeling to it. You can tell how much this band has influenced Weezer but it still has the same kind of sounds in their old records which I really love and appreciate.

3. Mitski- I Bet on Losing Dogs

Mitski is one of the top artists I discovered last year and I love pretty much every song by her. This song is pretty and sad (not in a hopeless way) and it's a song I listen to all the time, especially lately. The lyrics in this song are beautiful and the Indie-punk/rock sound is what makes this song (and her in general) so unique and cool and melodic.

 4. Yumi Zouma- The Brea

I think this song was recommended to me on the Discover Weekly playlist on Spotify and I fell in love with it the moment I heard it. The echoing riffs and harmonies make me feel like I am dreaming and it's so pretty and captivating. It also makes me wish all my friends were still in college and we'd day-drink and walk around campus. Idk if that makes sense.

5. Frankie Cosmos- Fool

I've heard a few of this girl's songs before but never really knew who it was or listened to any of her albums until I heard this song and knew I needed to hear more. Her lyrics are matter-of-fact which is something different and a breath of fresh air. She keeps it simple and short but it really stuck with me when I first heard the chorus. I think her album "Next Thing" is one of the best Indie-Pop albums of 2016.
