My Everyday Makeup Routine
I love playing around with makeup but I like to keep my day to day makeup quick, easy, and minimal. For someone who is usually up all night (thanks, insomnia) I'm usually rushing in the morning but I've got this look down pat. I use as little product as possible and it takes me less than ten minutes!
Because I always cleanse my face before bed, when I wake up I either rinse my face with warm water and pat dry or if for some reason I wake up and my skin feels oily, I like to use a cream cleanser to wash my face and then go in with my moisturizer and spf 30. After that I either go in with an illuminating primer (sometimes I just skip it) and then use the L'Oreal cushion foundation with my real techniques buffing brush or my beauty blender. After that I like to move onto my eyebrows.
Because my brows are naturally pretty full and dark, I don't have to do too much to them. Sometimes I like to define my arch a bit more with a precise brow pencil like the L'Oreal Brow Definer or sometimes I just run brow gel through them to keep the hairs in place and add a bit more definition. Next I use just a tiny bit of powder to keep my makeup in place. Although my skin is dry, throughout the day I can get a bit oily so I just use the tiniest amount in my T-zone.
After my foundation and brows are done I like to bronze up my face a bit using the Elf contouring blush and bronzing powder in the shade St. Lucia. I apply the bronzer with a light hand to my temples, the top of the forehead, and the sides of my cheeks to give my face back some color that the foundation has taken away. After that I apply a bit of the Wet n Wild blush in the shade Mellow Wine and it adds such a soft and natural flush to my cheeks. To finish my base, the last step is to add some glow and dewy-ness! I've been trying out the Elf Bronzers which is palette of 4 sheer shades where you can either mix all the colors together, or use a color individually. I like using the champagne and peach shades together the most- as it's the perfect highlight for my skin tone.
After my entire base is done, I move on to eyes. I always curl my lashes and sometimes that's all I'll do but other days I like to apply some mascara to my upper lashes to make my eyes appear bigger on mornings when I look tired. My current favorite is the Maybelline Lash Sensational.
To finish off the makeup look, I either just apply a lip balm and go or a nude lipstick. The one I use the most is Wet n Wild's Bare it All. I just put a tiny bit on my lips and use my finger to rub it in, almost so it's a stain. I don't know if it's just me but I hate the feeling of wearing lipstick and this trick helps me so much. Also sometimes I add a little more highlight after I'm done! (Like I did this day)
