My Quick Pick Me Up Routine
You know those days when you look in the mirror and you're like "Wow, I've really let myself go. I need to exfoliate my entire body, I need to shave my legs, I need to do a face mask blah blah blah"? And you're also in a grumpy mood?
I get you.
And when those two worlds collide there's really nothing better to do than go and deal with yourself. I wanted to make this post to tell you all about how I go about it.
I've been loving the Shea Moisture Raw Shea and Cupuacu scrub. It smells so good and it almost melts into your skin once you've worked it in a bit. It leaves my skin feeling super soft and hydrated and smelling so good (I catch myself smelling my own arms sometimes because it smells that good)
Once I dry off I like to apply the Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion. I've seen this stuff for years at the drugstore but one day I randomly picked it up and it's so good! It doesn't really have a scent and it is so hydrating even on my incredibly dry skin!
Next I like applying the OGX Nourishing Coconut Oil Mist to the ends of my hair. It keeps my ends soft and it doesn't weigh down my hair at all.
After everything else has been taken care of, I like to go on and apply a face mask. My current favorite for days when my skin needs a good clean is the Shea Moisture African Black Soap Clarifying Mud Mask. One thing I love about this mask (besides the ingredients) is the formula of it. You know when you have a mask on and when it's drying it feels like your face is going to crack? Yeah, this mask doesn't do that. It's almost like a gummy consistency and you never get that annoying and uncomfortable cracking sensation with this mask.
This mask is packed with so many great ingredients for purifying the skin like Tamarind Extract, Tea Tree Oil, and African Black Soap. Together it creates a soft exfoliating, brightening, and clarifying mask that I love for days when I feel like my skin needs a deep cleanse and detox.
After taking some time for myself, I feel much better and so refreshed. I like to end the day watching a movie or eating a nice dinner with Cody, or working on my blog. It is so important to take some time for yourself, don't feel guilty! It is healthy and so good for you!
I hope you all enjoyed this type of post! Let me know what your favorite thing is to use for days like these!
